Araabmuzik (Dipset/USA)

If you were to Google the name AraabMuzik, you would discover a lot of video’s showing this music producer hammering on an MPC as if he were Travis Barker on the drums. With his fast rhythmic touches on the machine- while donning a New Era fitted, some might call it poetry in motion, others might say it’s suicide on an MPC, but for this producer it’s another day on the job.

Having found much success working with Dipset members Cam’Ron, Duke Da God, Hell Rell and others, he’s also shopped beats to Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Cassidy, Gucci Man, Young Dro and Fabolous. With his rapid beat making techniques, it’s easy to understand why it’s getting him on shows from state to state because it’s amazing to see.

Still curious? Check this vid out for a taste :)

DISTRICT @ The Ambar

District returns on Friday 3 February, throwing bi-monthly parties bringing underground bass music back to the punters.

District is about the music, underground bass music; our Uptown DJs pump out Breakbeat and solid Electro. On the flipside our Downtown DJs are all about Hip Hop, Glitch, and Dubstep. Most club nights can’t deliver all these genres together; we can. Some club nights let DJs play just because they know the promoter, we pick ours because they are some of the best Perth has to offer:

Zeke makes his first District appearance, he is about as good as it gets, he drops hip hop, glitch, dub, and pretty much whatever he feels. If you’re bored; scope his cutting skills on YouTube, if you’re not; scope his cutting skills on YouTube. Further heavy weight talent is provided by FTW. Might seem like a new name but it’s just the collaboration of local favourites; Bezwun and JS. Next up is Jus Haus? to fill the peak slot. If that’s not enough Hykus takes you through the late part of the night, and Marko Paulo close out as they know best.

District wants to leave you with two points to reflect on:

1. Over 1000 punters came to our last Friday night party.

2. If the Mayans are correct, this is your last year to party… so do it right.

Welcome to the Smoke Cloud EP, the third official release from Paper Chain artist, Kit Pop. During this audible sequence you'll be granted audience to a full spectrum of the sounds that have become synonymous with the artist as he continues his solo journey, traversing and sourcing influence from the ripe, uninhabited soundscapes he so often explores. The marching drums and retracting synths of 'Midnight Kush' followed by the low voltage wobbles and intermittent echoes of 'Gaf Tank' will serve as catalysts to the proceedings, followed by the infectious, layered melodies and signature tempo shifts of 'If I Could Say'. The Smoke Cloud's mid-section takes a sinister turn with the grimey, unpredictable drum patterns and brooding chants of 'Walking Shadow' before launching the listener into the up-beat, cosmic landscapes of 'Primary'. As the smoke clears and the proceedings come to a close 'Nothing of Me' announces itself as a strong affirmation of Kit Pop's hip-hop influence, treating the listener to an array of rhythmic drips and wall-to-wall echoes all working in unison as the drums dance between half and double time, keeping the listener on their toes before the head-knocking, calculated relentlessness of the album's summation, 'Paradigm'.

THE GASLAMP KILLER (BRAINFEEDER)

Finally.......... after having to keep secret about this gig for weeks I can spill the beans on this show!!!!!

Firstly, if you don't know who the Gaslamp Killer is check out these links HERE and HERE. Get a feel for his outrageously energetic head banging bass wobbling psychadelic journeying sound.

Kindly enough, I have been asked to play on the support list and will be performing before the demon himself.

After performing at Stereosonic 2011 and doing his solo shows all over the place, the GLK is throwing it down at The Bird on William Street. Thanks to The Bird and the Perth {move} crew this is a free entry gig and is not one to be missed.
